Weathered Fence Post is a certified Monarch Butterfly Waystation committed to protecting and preserving the Monarch Butterfly’s habitat. The Monarch population has diminished by over 90% and is now an endangered species. There are beautiful gardens to wander in season and regular butterfly releases guests can participate in if they wish!

The Kennedy Covered Bridges– Weathered Fence Post offers a guided tour of five covered bridges in Rush County, all still in service. Your tour guide will provide the history of these bridges along the way. The full tour of all five bridges takes approximately 2 and a half hours with 10-minute stops at each bridge.
Step back in time to the early 1800s and visit the location of the Delaware Indian settlement as well as Rush County’s first pioneers, then ending back at Weathered Fence Post with a house tour. The home was built by one of Rush County’s pioneer families using poplar, white oak, and heart pine woods. With 17 rooms, there is more than you’d expect! $25 per person.
